Learn with a Cambridge Tutor

Expert IB tutor

My name is Dr. Leonardo and I am a Physics graduate from the University of Cambridge with a PhD from ETH Zurich.

I’m an expert tutor with 3000+ hours of online tutoring with 100+ students. Let’s see how I can help you with your uni.

Gain expert knowledge

When I started learning electrodynamics, I remember it was so hard to wrap my head around all of the quantities, such as E & D fields and polarization or B & H fields and magnetization… The lecturers weren’t so helpful either, because they were mostly focused on their research. This is why I have spent the last five years perfecting my knowledge of different areas of Physics and Maths in order to be able to teach clearly. Combined with the research knowledge I’ve acquired during my PhD, I can help you identify your knowledge gaps and help you develop problem-solving skills needed to excel in your exams.

Some of the courses I offer help with are:

  • University Physics: Classical Mechanics, Thermal & Statistical, Electrodynamics, Quantum and Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Computing etc.
  • University Mathematics: Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations etc.
  • Carrying out and writing up theses, scientific projects and papers
  • Other courses, such as Machine Learning, available from my team of expert tutors

Learn more effectively

How many all-nighters have you pulled this year? Are you feeling post-exam emptiness? Your brain, just like any other muscle, has a limited capacity to be active and it needs rest. This is why i’s much better to learn in shorter intervals of time and revise frequently. I will teach you how to optimize your learning strategy and be well-organized, which will allow you to learn more effectively and, importantly, have more free time.

Relieve anxiety

Quantum physics was my favorite subject at uni. I spent months studying it, not because I had to, but because I enjoyed it. This is why it mattered so much to me to do well in my second year final quantum exam. However, when I got to the exam, I got a panic attack. My mind went blank and I spent around 20 min paralyzed. I managed to score 65%, enough for a 2.i, but I was disappointed, because it was my lowest score of all exams. I realized I had to do something about my exam anxiety. Ever since, I developed a series of successful techniques to combat exam anxiety, such as breathing exercises and “safety protocols” for staying focused.

You can apply these techniques to other areas of your life. Being a successful student requires taking care of yourself, eating and sleeping well, and being physically active. Sometimes even that feels stressful! I’ll show you how to balance between work and free time, and how to deal with anxiety. You’ll boost your self confidence and set appropriate goals that will give you a sense of achievement and fulfillment with your studies.

Get career advice

Apart from grades, there are other important aspects of your studies. Finding the right internship will increase your chances of getting a good Master’s, PhD or starting job. Approaching different research group and professors can be intimidating, and you need to have a good strategy to capture their attention. I will advise you on different career paths STEM careers offer and help you write cover letters and approach research groups and employees.
